The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) announces that its Board will begin the process of recruiting for a new executive director. David L. Donahoe, who has served in the position since RAD’s inception 20 years ago, informed the Board today that he plans to leave District service in June.
“We are grateful to David for his 20 years of service to RAD and to our community. Board members past and present, as well as the assets we support, have relied on him for his competent management and sound judgment,” said RAD Board Chair Dusty Elias Kirk. “He gave freely both of his sage counsel and advice, and is a part of why RAD is respected as an agency and has accomplished so much. His leadership benefited not only RAD and RAD assets, but also our region. He has our best wishes for the future."
Ms. Kirk also said that the District hopes to name a new executive director in the spring to work with Mr. Donahoe on an orderly transition.
RAD has scheduled a special board meeting and public hearing for Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 3PM in the Gold Room, 4th Floor of the Allegheny County Courthouse.
At that time, the Board will hear public comment on and consider a request from the Sports & Exhibition Authority (SEA) for RAD to guarantee a bond issue to fund improvements at Heinz Field. No RAD funds are being allocated to the project. Additional details are available in the full release.
Prior to taking action, the RAD Board will hear public comment on this issue.
